Hi everyone i already detected the issues for the past 3 weeks and TM ignore my complaint and yesterday they put this announcement and even my complaint to their NOC ignored. Hope the routing come back again and they fix it

INTERNET SERVICES DISRUPTION DUE TO CABLE WORKS ON SMW4

Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) wishes to announce that its consortium members have detected a cable fault on the Southeast Asia-Middle East-Western Europe 4 (SMW4) submarine cable network between Alexandria in Egypt and Palermo in Italy linking Malaysia to Europe and the United States (US). The consortium will be carrying out repair works on site on Saturday, 24 April 2010 and it is expected to be completed on Sunday, 2 May 2010.During the restoration process, there will be some interruption to the traffic to Europe and the US carried through that cable. TM is taking active steps to minimize disruptions; we have added additional links on other routes and coordinated with other international carriers in order to provide additional bandwidth for our customers.
Despite these initiatives, customers using Internet services nationwide may experience some degree of service degradation such as slow browsing while accessing international websites. Customers using Virtual Private Network (VPN) and other critical business applications linked to Europe and the US will be assured minimal degradation of service, if any. TM will provide necessary updates on the progress of the restoration works, and would like to elicit feedback from our customers on the quality of service experienced. We apologize for any inconveniences caused by this disruption, whilst at the same time, would like to assure customers that we are undertaking all necessary measures to ensure that customers experience uninterrupted service. TM wishes to thank its customers for their understanding and patience during the affected period. Meanwhile, customers can call TM at 100 and select “Technical Assistance” or e-mail us at help@tm.com.my for any Internet related problems. |

i tottaly agree with you, 1Mbps package, but actual download speed is just 0.2~0.35Kbps…. is way fuckin nonsense! not even 50% of the so called ’1Mbps’. thats means we are paying 100%, but just getting on 30% of what we are paying for. tm is a multimedia super corridor my ass company!

You see my son just finish his spm.I’m worried when i noticed that he surfing all day from evening to 5 morning.Then around 7.00 am he sleeps.I wonder whats hes watching on pc.Everytime I woke up at 1 a.m, he became nervous.I know la bcos its my son.I getting more worry if he watching something underage.
Luckily i’m a TM engineer & i ask my subordinate to check my streamyx connection log just in case.So check punya check,Aiyo my prediction became true.I also frust.BUt what todo.Now I feel that Im just a bad mother.
So I decided to potong streamyx & revert back to 1515 dial up as punishment.Even if I install antiporn software,I’m not confident.I know hes pro than me in term of surfing.
So children out there don’t do something that disappoint your parent.If my son nagging & complaining about my action,this time i will smack him harder than before.

The ppl at TMNET and TELEKOM have no shame. Their work sucks, they productivity sucks. Their customer service suck, their technician sucks….The only thing they can do it is issuing phone bills. REally hopeless..

1Mbps line , China websites very very slow (1515 work much better than it) ,all FTP(local/International) limited to 15KB/s Max.
US,Europe always gila-gila.
Tried all ip ranges oredi.
Still need to pay hundred ringgit per month, Where is my money go?
Will 4Mbps or Unifi successful? I doubt that, coz they work in the same “theory” like 1Mbps .

i’ve tried everythin from jaring,streamyx,celcom broadband,maxis broadband(ridiculously expensive stupid maxis),and even the ever bullshit;wimax.so far,wimax is the worst,it doesn’t even deserve to be compared to anythin else stated(wimax is basically a pain in the arse.the founder is probably a cow)..i’m not exactly hating streamyx,but i’m totally dissapointed.because a lot of us put our hopes that tm net would fulfil the needs of highspeed internet.you may not believe it,but vietnam is doing a lot (damn) better than us in this whole internet thing.and they pay for cheaper price too.the mind and the hands of our main wifi developer are not willing to hear they are making lenghty promises.is it any wonder

For the past 2 months everyday from 8am to 1am my connection is at 15kb/s.OMG and they told me is my modem lah my pc lah. Ask me to turn off firewall la… I mean wat the f**k???? TURN OFF FIREWALL???? What ISP would ask you to turn off your firewall??? I didn’t know to laugh or get really angry at them.
If there’s something wrong with my pc or modem, why my connection back to normal every night after 2am then next day 8am start slow again.
88 bucks a month for this sh*t.
I wish some new fast reliable broadband company comes and gives TM net some competition!

i just want to blurt out here… ftp speeds is so horrible that i cant upload 50kb stuff in less than .5 seconds. this is a nightmare, a hell for web developers. T__T, no web developers can stand this anymore. none. our ISP is so horrible to the point of being worst than a demon themselves.
